I asked my friends on Instagram to share their book recommendations with me and I received about a dozen good book ideas. So I had to share them with you guys! I've read only a few books from this list but for all of them I found a short description on the Internet. You can look through the list, get the idea of what the books are about, and maybe choose something for yourself.
Just letting you know, the books are really different here. But I hope you can find something that you would like to read.
Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell
Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant-in the blink of an eye-that actually aren't as simple as they seem.
The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer
Too often we treat the symptoms of toxicity in our modern world instead of trying to pinpoint the cause. A growing number of voices are pointing at hurry, or busyness, as a root of much evil.
Within the pages of this book, you will find a fascinating roadmap to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.
Don't follow your heart: God's ways are not your ways by Jon Bloom
“Follow your heart” is a creed embraced by billions of people. Our hearts were never designed to be followed, but to be led. Our hearts were never meant to be gods in whom we believe, but to believe in God.
A Light on the Hill by Connilyn Cossette
Seeking safety at one of the newly-established Levitical cities of refuge, she is wildly unprepared for the dangers she will face, and the enemies - and unexpected allies - she will encounter on her way. The whole series called The Cities of Refuge is a great reminder of the perfect justice and extravagant mercy of our great God.
Other recommendations were given in Russian but I tried to find English equivalents (that are often the originals) or translate the name and the description.
The Invincible Refugees: The Story of the Huguenots by Beth Coombe Harris
Written in figurative language, this historical fiction takes the reader to France at the end of the 17th century and tells about the ruthless persecution of the Huguenots, and based on this story shows glorious examples of faith, fidelity and love for the Lord.
The Power of the Others by Dr. Henry Cloud
The full name adds "The startling effect other people have on you, from the boardroom to the bedroom and beyond-and what to do about it".
Using evidence from neuroscience and his work with leaders, Dr. Henry Cloud shows that the best performers draw on another vital resource: personal and professional relationships that fuel growth and help them surpass current limits.
The Final Quest by Rick Joyner

Filled with fascinating case histories, this is the dramatic and intimate story of Ben Carson's struggle to beat the odds - and of the faith and genius that make him one of the greatest life-givers of the century.

By applying the principles in this book, Ben rose from his tough life to one of amazing accomplishments and international renown. He learned that he had potential, he learned how to unleash it, and he did. You can too.

In this book Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way. Aimlessly seeking answers, people never discover their full potential. Greatness is within you. Through personal storytelling and revelation, author Andrey Shapoval presents a Creator in a new dimension. Your existence on earth is a direct confirmation that God completed your destiny on earth.
Love Comes Softly by Janet Oak (Series)
This book introduced the characters of Marty and Clark Davis, whose tragic circumstances brought them to a "marriage of convenience" on the frontier prairies during the mid 1800s. Three Comrades by Erich Maria Remarque
Written with the same overwhelming simplicity and directness, the novel portrays the greatness of the human spirit, manifested through characters who must find the inner resources to live in a world they did not make, but must endure.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
This philosophical dystopia by Ray Bradbury paints a hopeless picture of the development of a post-industrial society; this is the world of the future, in which all written publications are ruthlessly destroyed, and the possession of books is prosecuted by law.
Two of these books/series I've already read this year and wrote reviews on them (that are waiting to be published), and one more I'm reading right now. So follow along to be first to read new reviews!
